JAKARTA, Oct 7 (Bernama) — Malaysia has given over US$10,000 in aid to two organisations in Indonesia, signifying the close relationship between the two countries, in conjunction with the fasting month of Ramadan.

The aid was presented by the Malaysian ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Zainal Abidin Mohamed Zain at a breaking of fast at the Malaysian embassy at Jalan Rasuna Said, Kuningan last night.

Zainal Abidin presented about Rp11.8 million to Institut Ilmu Al-Quran Indonesia here. It was accepted by the rector Prof Dr KH Ahsin Sakho Muhammad.

Another US$10,000 was presented to the managing director of the Dharmais Cancer Hospital here, Dr Sutoto.

The aid was in conjunction with the visit of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah to Indonesia recently.

The Malaysian ambassador said that the people and government of both countries will always safeguard the close bilateral ties although issues may crop up from time to time.
